Alison Derham
Alison Derham DL has been a Deputy Lieutenant for Oxfordshire since 2022. She is part of the Lieutenancy team focused on West Oxfordshire and is the Lieutenancy’s link to Charlbury and Woodstock. She is a member of the Lieutenancy’s Honours and Awards Committee and holds the Lieutenancy’s education brief for the County.
Alison has built a career in teaching over the last forty years and has specialised in teaching pupils with special educational needs. Alison is always keen to ensure equal access to opportunities in education and has worked on a variety of projects to achieve this. She has volunteered her time with schools and orphanages in India and two organisations, the Doorstep Library and ‘IntoUniversity’, which support disadvantaged young people living in London. Alison also worked with children in Oxfordshire in the wake of the Covid-pandemic.
Alison lives in Charlbury with her husband Patrick.
