Moira Darlington
Moira Darlington DL has been a Deputy Lieutenant for Oxfordshire since 2020. She convenes the group of DLs focused on Oxford East. She also holds the Lieutenancy’s Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion brief for the County.
Moira studied Classics at St Anne’s College, Oxford. She later took a PGCE from the University of London. She has worked in education for forty years, in both academic and pastoral leadership roles, and for the Independent Schools Inspectorate. Additionally, Moira has wide experience as a School Governor, currently at Barton Park Primary and St Clare’s College, Oxford. Alongside this work, Moira was a founding Trustee of the homelessness charity Emmaus, Oxford. She is co-Patron of My Vision Oxfordshire, which supports people with visual impairment, and sits on the advisory board of African Families in the UK.
Moira lives in Oxford with her husband Stephen.
