Hosted by Managing Director Edgar Rayner, the visit highlighted LTi Metaltech’s advanced manufacturing expertise, its contribution to nationally important sectors, and the skills of the team behind its work. Deputy Lieutenant Mr Brian Buchan attended an Investiture at Windsor Castle last week, where HRH The Prince of Wales presented him with his MBE. Formerly Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire, Brian was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire in The King’s New Year Honours List, in recognition of his service to charity and to the community in Oxfordshire. His contribution across the county has been considerable, including as Chair of the Finance Committee at The Story Museum and Chair of OXSRAD. This award is richly deserved, and we send Brian our warmest congratulations. On Monday 18 May 2026, Major (Retd) James Sibbald DL was delighted to represent the Oxfordshire Lieutenancy at Henley Manor to celebrate the 104th birthday of James Duff. Mr Duff served as a Lieutenant in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve on minesweepers between 1943 and 1946. A remarkable milestone for a remarkable man, who continues to share his knowledge and curiosity through regular talks on subjects ranging from space to fungi. The first Royal Garden Party took place last week at Buckingham Palace (@theroyalfamily) and several Oxfordshire residents attended including Ms Emma Cox (pictured here with her mother). Emma is landlady of the family-run Dolphin Pub in Wallingford and has supported her community in multiple ways – from supporting older residents, offering free meals and charitable fundraising. The Garden Party is a special day and is an opportunity for the Lieutenancy to recognise those who have made a significant impact across Oxfordshire.

RAF Brize Norton welcomed The Princess Royal on 17th April to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Tactical Medical Wing’s dedicated and life-saving service. Her Royal Highness, as Honorary Air Commodore, met members of the TMW and toured several training exercises demonstrating the Wing’s impressive medical and operational capabilities. For 30 years, the Tactical Medical Wing has brought care and comfort to all those in need. The visit concluded with a flypast from the magnificent A400M aircraft. Another proud moment for Oxfordshire.
