HRH Duke of Gloucester’s visit

The Lord-Lieutenant was delighted to welcome the Duke of Gloucester to Oxfordshire on Tuesday 11th June.

His was a busy programme! It began at the Thame Community Shed. This is a project set up to encourage individuals to learn practical skills such as carpentry, make social connections, and alleviate loneliness.

His Royal Highness then went on to the Thame War Memorial to unveil 30 additional names of local service personnel, previously overlooked and now recognised by the ‘Thame Remembers’ project.

Additionally, His Royal Highness opened Wellford Gardens, a new Care Home in Wheatley owned by the Orders of St John Care Trust.

The day then concluded at the laboratories of Oxford PV, Yarnton. They are global leaders in perovskite solar technology, and they see a future where this will help accelerate the transition to an all-electric world, powered by clean energy. OxfordPV is yet another example of the talent and expertise within the county.
