HRH Duke of Edinburgh visit to Oxford
The Lord-Lieutenant was delighted to welcome The Duke of Edinburgh to Oxford on Tuesday 20th February.
His Royal Highness visited the Story Museum and enjoyed seeing all the engaging exhibits. (HRH is pictured here ‘lost in Narnia’) The Story Museum is a great credit to Oxford in all that it does to encourage young people to develop a life-long love of reading by immersing them in the world of stories.
His Royal Highness then walked in the sunshine to the Old Fire Station where he met with volunteers and staff. The Old Fire Station offers a vital and vibrant support network for the less advantaged members of our community. Their valuable work demonstrates how much can be achieved through the Arts and charitable supporters.
His Royal Highness concluded his visit to Oxford at ‘Flo’s – The Place in the Park’, off Rymers Lane, and met children and their families. HRH also had an opportunity to assist with some ice lolly making at the ‘No Vice Ice’ enterprise. Flo’s is a thriving and popular destination for families and the local community.
