Sara Fernandez
Sara Fernandez DL has been a Deputy Lieutenant of Oxfordshire since 2020. She is part of the Lieutenancy team focused on East Oxford. She holds the Lieutenancy’s families brief for the County.
Sara was educated at Merton College, Oxford, and stayed in Oxford to grow the Student Hubs network, which supports students to be involved in their community. She then received a prestigious Cranfield Trusts scholarship to complete an Executive MBA at Cranfield University, where she developed her vision to grow social action across Oxford City. Sara led a social action centre called the Oxford Hub for fifteen years, and developed the Young Trustees Programme, which has now grown to be delivered nationally. She has served as a Trustee of Student Minds and Age UK Oxfordshire, and she is now CEO at Now Foster, where she uses her personal experience of fostering to lead system innovation in partnership with local authorities.
