Cynthia Hall
Cynthia Hall DL has served as Deputy Lieutenant of Oxfordshire since 2018. She is active in South Oxfordshire and is the Lieutenancy’s link to Henley-on-Thames. She is a member of the Lieutenancy’s Honours and Awards Committee.
Cynthia was educated at St Anne’s College, Oxford, and then embarked on a career in teaching. From 1993, she led two independent girls’ schools, The School of St Helen and St Katharine in Abingdon (to 2008) and Wycombe Abbey in High Wycombe (to 2013). She has also served as a School Inspector, held five secondary school governorships, and been a member of the Oxfordshire Independent State School Partnership Forum and President of the Girls’ Schools Association. Cyntha has also worked in executive recruitment.
Outside of work, Cynthia was appointed Trustee of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, with special responsibility for their education and outreach programme, in 2013.
Cynthia lives in Henley-on-Thames with her husband Tony.
